2016 Class Project: South Carolina Day of Service
May 20, 2017
South Carolina's Day of Service is an annual day of service where South Carolinians unite to make our communities and state a better place to live and play in honor of our states birthday, May 23rd, 1788. Communities in every corner of the state come together on the 3rd Saturday in May of each year to give back so mark your calendar for May 20, 2017.
Why?
Our state is stronger when we work together. Lets celebrate our states birthday as united communities and demonstrate to the world what happens when South Carolinians work together to move our state forward. On South Carolina's Day of Service, we unite to:
- Give back to their community in a meaningful and simple way
- Fulfill unmet community challenges and needs through activities, such as checking on neighbors, picking up litter, beautification projects, or repairing a building.
- Unite to celebrate community service
- Act as one voice for activities and unmet needs
You can give of your time and energy in whatever way is important to you and your community. Your South Carolina is our South Carolina, and the service effort you support makes all of us better!
