Leadership SC Class of 2024
A Look at Public Education & Workforce Development
Nov. 15, 16, 17, 2023
Greenville, Anderson and Pendleton
Our third session explores Public Education & Workforce Development in South Carolina. To get a look at one of the state’s most progressive school districts, we focus on the Greenville County School District.
As the state’s largest school district in size and student population, Greenville County School District tackles the challenges of teaching this geographically diverse area for the entire county. The innovative programs, flexible educational initiatives and highly motivated educators demonstrate why Greenville School District is one of the most progressive school districts in the nation, embracing technology, curriculum development and project-based learning.
We kick-off our look at public education with former SC Education Supt. Molly Spearman with
information on iLead a passion project to create student leaders with the Maxwell Leadership
Foundation. Later, we explore Workforce readiness by going to Anderson’s Career & Technology Center for Anderson District 1 and 2; followed by Tri-County Tech to see how students fast-track to careers. We’ll end at Tri-County Tech with a report on how education is the great economic equalizer.
