Leadership SC Class of 2024
A Study of Natural Resources, Environment & Energy
October 3-5, 2023
Your October session, Natural Resources, Environment & Energy focuses on the unique geography,
energy resources and beautiful landscapes of South Carolina. This session provides a unique
opportunity to see how the Lowcountry has become transformative in attracting high technology while
preserving its past.
Our session begins in Mount Pleasant at the SC Ports Authority. Here you will learn how our state’s
historic ports have been an economic driver attracting some of the world’s most influential companies –
Boeing, BMW, Volvo, and Michelin among others.
Later in the day, we drive south to Seabrook Island where we will continue our exploration of South
Carolina’s coastline, marshes, preservation efforts and wildlife.
Please wear comfortable clothes/shoes for our tours and bring clothes for the plough-mud marshes.
