
Shiva Hodges is a United States Magistrate Judge sitting in the District of South Carolina. Shiva was one of the youngest federal judges in the country when appointed to the bench in 2010.
A 2019 graduate of the Leadership South Carolina, Shiva attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in international business, and her law degree.
Shiva widely lectures on legal and ethical issues and serves on the Executive Board of the Federal Magistrate Judges Association. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the South Carolina Women in Law Society, and a former member of the alumni board of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics.
Before her appointment to the federal bench, Shiva was a litigator at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein and a career law clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr., then-Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court in South Carolina.
