Karen Albert

Overview

Karen Albert is the president of Practical Solutions for Public Safety. Based in Upstate, South Carolina, the company provides public safety consulting services to government agencies and the private sector. Karen also provides technical resources and serves as an instructor for the National Institute of Corrections in the areas of jail administration and resource management.

She previously worked as a juvenile court counselor in Wayne County, N.C., and served as Director of Administration for the Arlington County, Va., Sheriff’s Office. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University, a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management, and a doctorate in Education - Organizational Leadership.

She is a graduate of Lead Virginia, Leadership Greer, Leadership Arlington and served on the boards supporting animals and leadership programs. She is also a member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board at East Carolina University. She recently organized the effort to place a World War I Memorial in Greer, dedicated on the 100th anniversary of the end of the war.
