Jennifer McEwen

Overview

Jennifer McEwen is Director of Cultural Affairs for the Town of Hilton Head Island. Her job entails developing and promoting the resort island’s entertainment, arts, cultural and heritage assets as well as identifying new opportunities for cultural development.

The island on the southern tip of South Carolina has 10 public arts installations and 11 locations on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition, Hilton Head hosts 32 festivals each year as well as hundreds of jazz and theater performances.

A native of Connecticut, Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of North Carolina and a master’s in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans.

Prior to working on Hilton Head, Jennifer worked in the arts in Atlanta, most recently as the executive director of Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theater Company. She has participated in the National Arts Strategies Chief Executive Program, a national professional development for leaders of cultural organizations.
