Cynthia Dannels is a deputy state treasurer for the state of South Carolina. She oversees administration and information technology as well as the state’s unclaimed property program. She is also administrator for the Future Scholar College Savings Program and the ABLE Savings program, a program allowing those with disabilities to invest and save money while remaining eligible for government benefits.
Cynthia has worked for other state agencies including the Department of Commerce, the state Housing Finance and Development Authority and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of South Carolina. She is a certified public manager and has served as president of the state Society of Certified Public Managers. She has also served on the board of the State Government Improvement Network.
