Col. Tim Dotson is the mission support group commander and director of mission support for the South Carolina Air National Guard. Tim administers all support programs for the largest operational F-16 Fighter Wing in the Air National Guard based at McEntire Joint National Guard Base outside of Columbia. He is responsible for operations and maintenance at the 2,400-acre complex that has almost 4,000 military and support personnel.
He is currently working with Richland County under a new federal pilot program to help local communities improve infrastructure that supports military installations.
Tim has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel and a master’s in military operations from the U.S. Air Force Air University. He previously held positions at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi.
He is active in both the national and the South Carolina National Guard associations, the Society of American Military Engineers and the Association of Energy Engineers.
