Col. Chris Hyman

Overview

Col. Chris Hyman is the Director of Plans, Operations and Training for the South Carolina Army National Guard. Chris serves as the primary staff officer for the state Adjutant General in, among other duties, formulating plans and policies, budgeting, oversight of training facilities and training and overseeing programs that require interaction with civilian agencies. The Guard has about 9,000 personnel in the state.

Chris lives in Lexington and has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Francis Marion University and also earned a master’s in strategic leadership.

He is a past president of the National Guard Association of South Carolina and of the Palmetto Military Academy Association. He is a member of the Army Engineer Association and is active in the VFW.
